For routes for my ambition and achievement (sounds kinda Zen) or four routes through the knackered houses ?!!?

That was discussed at length here, although my pics are no longer live. I think its safe to say those who live on Baswich Lane would fight any attempt t widen that road, despite it being the most logical solution.Gramaisc said:The Eastern By-Pass was commenced in 1935 with the construction of Beaconside from Weston Road to Sandon Road. This was extended in 1975 from Sandon Road to Redhill. There was a short extention added to the new Fire Station around 2000ish and so it seems likely to take about another 150 years to complete. Hope this helps.basil said:While there about it why not improve the 'bypass' route from blackheath lane thru' to the A34 at weeping x ?.........
I know a couple of people who live there so will ask what they think. Neither of them own their flat.gk141054 said:Does anyone on the forum live in any of the aforementioned Castle View flats either as owner occupier of as a tennant?
Well no, but it's not as if they're getting rid of the railway to make way for the bypass is it. They're gonna have both to contend with!gk141054 said:Would the bypass be any worse than the railway line that is within spitting distance? Could never understand why anyone would buy a place that close to the train line... madness.
Preparations are ongoing on the M6 for hard shoulder running, as far down as junction 5 and as far up as junction 16. See heregk141054 said:No, I see what you are saying... problem is they already ditched the motorway widening idea, so now they are going to use "hard shoulder running" instead so then adding an extra lane as you suggest either requires widening (which has already been ditched) or use the hard shoulder for that which puts them back to square one requireing the widening again?!?! :/
I can wait.....I've got time......Gramaisc said:The Eastern By-Pass was commenced in 1935 with the construction of Beaconside from Weston Road to Sandon Road. It's possibly not the only ex GEC site which is contaminated....riverwayevents said:the word is that theres serious contamination.
The M6 is under the control of the Highways Agency - generally, they are against "local" traffic on their roads and can't see them agreeing to a new M6 junction in a million years. As far as motorways go there is a certain amount of sense in prioritising longer distance traffic. Stafford is quite well off with 2 M6 junctions - a lot of places of similar size wouldn't get two motorway junctions.shoes said:Assuming that they wish to divert traffic away from the town centre and the aim being to connect the A518 to the A34, would it not be cheaper to bung junction '14 B' on the intersection of the A518 and the M6 and perhaps build an extra lane between '14 B' and 15?
It was known as"The Stafford Bypass†linking the A449 to the A34 when it originally opened in 1962, constructed to relieve traffic on the A34.henryscat said:The M6 is under the control of the Highways Agency - generally, they are against "local" traffic on their roads and can't see them agreeing to a new M6 junction in a million years. That's surely why there's two junctions for such a little place. If they'd built the M6 in one go we would surely have had just one junction - on the Newport Road, perhaps - and what fun that would be now...Wyred said:It was known as"The Stafford Bypass†linking the A449 to the A34 when it originally opened in 1962, constructed to relieve traffic on the A34.
