Cat just killed on Sandon Road

I've just witnessed a mature white and black cat being hit and killed by a road inspection vehicle on the Sandon Road, not far from the junction of Fairfield Court. It wasn't the drivers fault as he was pretty slow moving and tried really hard to avoid the cat that just sprinted out in front of him.
It was very upsetting for all involved. I have picked up the body and just temporarily placed it somewhere safe in case the owner turns up. I asked around on Sandon Road if anyone knew who its owner was but to no avail :(

If anyone knows who the cat belongs to then please let me know via the forum.

If you contact Streetscene (Borough council) they will collect the body and scan for a microchip, and contact the owners for you.

RIP kitty

Thanks kytoto49.
Never realised that the service existed..or that people microchipped cats.
I'll give them a call..

All responsible owners microchip their cats to ensure they can prove ownership, be located if the cat is found straying, or identify them if any terrible thing happens to their cat - like this :(
