I've been having terrible cramp in my legs recently and was thinking about going to see a professional

(after the other halfs - half arsed massage attempts proved useless!)

And my dearest mother suggested I got to Staffs College Beauty Center

I checked out the price list: http://www.staffordcoll.ac.uk/brochures/StaffColl-BeautyAcademy-Pricelist.pdf

And they seen amazing!

I've never had any of this stuff done in my life but the prices seem reasonable, I've met many students from the beauty college over the years and all of them have been absolutely lovely!

I will go an report back!

(Plus this acts as a double whammy - scrimping and supporting the local community :) ) SHAABAM!!

Hi Crazy-Rat-Lady, glad you like the sound of these treatments. You are quite right, you really would be helping our students as well as saving money - they need plenty of experience with members of the public as part of their courses. Have you had any luck getting an appointment? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Unfortunately the campus buildings are not normally open to animals. So only certified assistance rats wearing appropriate jackets..;)

Ah, now, sadly, we couldn't accept that particular rat because it is wearing a regular 'going out' jacket. We would need a proper high-visibility assistance jacket issued by an approved organisation. Also full photographic ID for the animal. Them's the rules...obviously I'd like to help...

I'll get knitting! Unfortunately my rats aren't well enough behaved to suit a venture to the college!

But I've been good so I'll defo be coming!

Not trying to pull you away from a college massage - but does your diet lack salt (trying to be too healthy maybe).?
I only ask because I used to suffer terrible leg cramps, especially when swimming (not good) or driving long distances. The doctor told me to get some salt tissue tablets or to simply increase my salt in my diet - I chose the latter and it worked!
I now go a bit silly with salt during the 24 hours before an excessively long drive and don't get any cramp problems at all.

Thought it might be worth a mention.

Thanks WMR, unfortunately I am certainly not lacking in salt..... I eat far too many packets to crisps to be deficient!

It is something that has been suggested to me but I eat so unhealthily that I know its not that!

I suspect its a result of bad shoes and being on my feet for 18 hours all day Saturday and 12 hours Sunday, must remember to sleep as well.....

So......

I went to the beauty therapy center today!

10 out for 10!!!

I had a deluxe manicure! I've never had any beauty things done before so didn't know what to expect! I gave the poor girl a real challenge as I spent all yesterday gardening and my hands were pretty caked in mud! Plus I still had remnants of Friday nights 'Frenzy' purple glitter nail polish!

So to sum up....

*Very modern professional building - immaculately presented.
*My therapist was friendly and polite, she chatted to me the whole time and explained clearly everything she was doing, she was genuinely lovely and made me feel so relaxed!
*The job she did was beautiful and professional- the tutor was in the salon so was there at all times in case she needed any help (she didn't - she knew exactly what she was doing!)
*Soooooooo cheap!!

I would recommend this to anyone - and I will definitely go again!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your visit and thank-you so much for posting that report, Crazy Rat Lady. Now you have had some pampering, I hope you will be treating yourself again, soon - customers like you are a really important part of the training experience that the students get at College.

Stafford College - what are the opening times for the Beauty college? thinking of coming in for a gelish manicure. Also do you know if the advanced facial with it using electrical equipment is ok for someone with a pacemaker?

I doubt the advanced facial using electrical equipment would be ok for pacemakers Jade, I was a guinea pig for this one when I worked there and had to be sure I'd taken out every piercing. Left a funny taste in my mouth from my filling too!
