oh how st johns market gets forgotten now that is in ruins! it won,t be long before it is gone altogether i expect. I thought the powers that be (although they have no power) were going to rectify this, alas - not true. I dont shop in stafford now on principal now that all my fave shops have gone. il continue to use the market until it is no more.

all the powers that be want our opinion on what else we want to see for xmas in stafford
No - the only person asking for your views is the chairman of Stafford Town Centre Partnership - the organisation that now represents 130 local organisations, businesses and voluntary service groups within Stafford, in the hope that if we get some positive feedback we can do something positive in Stafford instead of just being defeatist and negative - oh and as a final thought thanks for supporting the shops and businesses that are in Stafford, the ones that employ local people!

Well said Chris.
Umarkmywords - you said Goodbye. so jog on with your negative attitude and let the people who care about Stafford keep on trying to make it an ever better place.

i was a business - i know all about it

If you were a business and "know all about it" then why don't you share your experience?

Perhaps articulating what happened to your business instead of making vague offhand remarks might help people understand why you feel the way you do.

It does seem though, if I may say so, that you sound very bitter towards Stafford in general....for example you say you never shop in Stafford apart from the market.

My question to you....and to others with the same outlook.....how can Stafford EVER become a better place to shop if local people avoid it?

Use it or lose it etc etc...

I have offered to share my and other peoples experience to no avail. Some people that tell us what to do have no experience in running small family businesses. It was alas too late. I think that the people who make these plans should start from the shop floor and work with small business people just to see how hard it can be. The buying the selling wholesale accounts retail waste, time given to their particular business the person i dealt with hadn't had any experience of these things, so yes i am annoyed. what gets me though if anything is said on this forum out come the claws, name calling, sarcasm. Local people dont run stafford so i think the battle is lost.
very sad
