Closure of Baswich Lane bridge.

Utter chaos, yesterday's journey to work clocked up extra miles and I was 15 mins late. My usual route over the shugborough bridges saw tail backs just after the second bridge so I decided to turn round and headed back towards Rugeley, turning left at wolseley Bridges and heading towards Weston.
Tail backs there from the county showground so turned around again and turned towards Hopton. At the end of the lane turned left then left again to get me on the road that the RAF camp was on , further up that road took a left onto Stone rd to get me into Stafford to work on the Palmbourne one estate.
Absolute nightmare, why Don t the people that have to close roads think more about the people that use these roads and change the priorities on traffic lights to avoid these Tail backs. They have messed about with the traffic lights at the Crematorium which has added to the chaos, come on its not rocket science!!!!!! The only way to get into Stafford on time is by helicopter!!!

I'm sure somebody on here has the answer as to how utility companies are allowed to just start roadworks wherever they like........................

What you have to do is to take one step back.

If possible two.

And then think... this is so fecked up it's actually funny...

Then we can all laugh about it.

I made the mistake of thinking i could get from here to there in an hour just two days ago. It took me half an hour just to get to here.

Luckily it didn't take me that much longer to get to there - but time didn't know that beforehand.

My favourite thing about the 'managed' diversion is that it is so incredibly mismanaged - it shurely won't take too long until the Milford -> Tixall road is mashed simply because it can't be any other way?

Perhaps my chopper could be of assistance......

It could be managed a bit better if they thought about it, the volume of traffic has increased fourfold if not more so the lights at the Crematorium should stay on green at least twice as long if not more to clear the backlog from Tixall or at least make the queuing time less!!

It's a FAQ for them

https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/blog/2011/07/how-often-do-we-update-our-paper-maps/

"The popularity of the sheet is also a factor. A map covering an area popular with vistors such as the Lake District would take priority over a less-popular area, providing of course, that changes have occurred that would be important to the users – new footpaths, roads and a visitor centre for example."

Oddly enough I looked at that a few months back. I picked up editions of maps from the turn of the century (1900 ish) through to the 1990s.

There were editions (68?) published of the Baswich/Walton School area which didn't include the Hillcroft Park area which had been built by then. Unless I was born in a field.
