After nearly being mown down a number of times in Stafford by mobility scooters I was wondering what the collective name would be.

In Iceland today a woman attempted to reverse with no thought about the person behind her.

I did see a meet up in the square of 3 today. Smoking and generally above average size persons.

I know some people genuinely need them for mobility but if your overweight and smoking WTF!

Not sure but I'm sure the ride on lawnmower squad will give them a run for their money. Seen them out and about but thankfully not in the centre of Stafford.

... perhaps they can't walk, either very far or at all?
Or if they are overweight and smoking, are they assumed to be more ambulatory?

Honestly, I tend to have more trouble with people with umbrella's going for the eyes :P

I imagine if you have the kind of mobility issues that prompt you to buy a scooter it must be quite hard to keep weight off.

I find it difficult enough and I can go for a run.

Whatever, there's no excuse for rudeness and ignorance. Most aren't but some are.

I'm sure this is one of those which came first type of situations. Lady over the road from me used to walk her dog and whilst never slim she was pretty mobile. She got a mobility scotter and her weight has doubled. I'm not party yo her health issues, but I've yet to see a slim person on a molbility scooter. It can't b a coincidence can it?

Some people who use these scooters have never driven a car and although I know they are a lot smaller they should take some kind of test so they don't cause problems.

I have wondered if some actually need to use one when I witnessed someone parking up outside Tescos and then pushing a trolley around the store without any need of any assistance.
