Bumpin this up, I have had a letter from this programme, there is no chance on this earth I will be participating. Will anyone else be taking part?

Admin Edit: This is the second time Come Dine With Me has come to Stafford! See this thread for the first time they graced the finest County Town in the land:

Tinned soup, with bread taken straight out of the bag. Egg n chips, if you're lucky I'd open a tin of baked beans. Followed by either - ice cream out of the tub or a cake sliced up with packet custard. I know how to live the high life.
My kids still joke, that the only way they knew tea were ready, was when the smoke alarms used go off!

I've started the application process before, I got so far then realised I wasn't interested in spending a week with a bunch of attention seekers and whingers.

It was a great program when it first started but now it's less about the food/ dinner party experience and more about clashing personalities and one-upmanship.

I can think of a forumite who would be perfect ;)

I have toyed with the idea, especially since having a new kitchen.

I have a few problems though.

We have gone massively open plan, knocking through so that the kitchen/dining all one big space so everyone can see me cooking. (not good )

I am not a relaxed cook and don't like to be watched.

Given time, like say, a million hours I can present a decent dinner party. I am a perfectionist and like a nicely presented table. Not the best cook but I like to try.

I have no tolerance for idiots, I speak my mind, I lack patience. I love people with funny quirky personalities.

So.......?

My menu would consist of beans on toast and a pasta bake followed by ice cream out the tub!

Get them sozzled & phone for a take-away!!!

I'd be happy with all those three. :)

When it first started I'd have been tempted, but now it seems to be populated by attention whores, I'm not sure it would be worth it - and Stafford is too small a town - you know full well that the person you loath would be the person you see all the time / somehowbe connected in some way...
