Do we really have to pay somebody to market the cops?

 

Is it the police you would market or the Commissioner ( appeared on that awful BBC Breakfast this morning )

I am told the Commissioner is already hiring in outside Agencies to take over roles within the force

 

I wouldn't market either of them - the cops don't need marketing and the Commissioner doesn't need to exist.

 

A spin manager, makes the re election of PCC more likley at next election. Total waste of money.

TAXPAYERS are forking out more than £1 million for the controversial office of Staffordshire's new Police and Crime Commissioner – the same amount as the authority it replaced.

Newly-elected Matthew Ellis pledged he would run his team for £200,000 less than the police authority.

But he has now decided to budget the same £1.1 million

He will pick up a £75,000 salary for the role and has responsibility for overseeing chief officers, deciding Staffordshire Police's priorities and setting its shrinking budget.

His deputy, fellow Conservative Sue Arnold, will earn £25,000 for working three days a week.

I agree with @Gramaisc, having somewhat of a monopoly the police don't need marketing.
But if it's out there someone will do it. Be interesting to see the role brief.
