You probably don't clean your computer screen very often

Here is a service for cleaning the inside of the screen

my cordless portable telephone is approx ten years old

Nokia 6310 i think, but the writing has worn off

I am now considering one of these new fangled iphones - is there a 'best deal' for contracts? or is it a case of calling up these crooks and staying on the line until someone gives way?

I might need a go at the port before making an attempt - telebiz people? - bunch of rogues !!

i realise you are only making a joke, but a cordless telephone is completely different to a mobile telephone, so make sure of your nomenclature in future ;)

buy on the internet, innit.. orange and o2 currently do the iphone.. well, vodafone do it as well but, really, who buys vodafone in this day and age? :P

orange and o2's prices are basically the same, so it boils down to which network you prefer! if you're taking it abroad, check out their international rates and shiz..

It is interesting how terminology evolves. When I told somebody in 1990 that I had just bought a cordless kettle he simply refused to believe me on the basis, as it turned out, that the battery would be the size of a cooker..

Also Americans use the term 'cell-phone', which is probably a good term.

Didn't BT actually market a phone that was a cordless when in contact with your home base and a mobile when it was out of contact. Not a bad idea at the time, but I don't recall it catching on..

That is a seriously awesome bit of kit! Haha. I very rarely go over 30 miles from my home it has to be said so thatwould be well useful. But you very rarely get tele sales people contacting your mobile selling double glazing as much as you do at home so that might be a pain when your out...

Actually the rest of the speaking English world call it a 'Cell Phone'

This is the correct name for it because the telephone connects to mobile towers call 'Cells'.

Ive only ever heard it called a mobile phone in England. Skill points required for this useful information please.

lol you don't ASK for points. that's like fishing for compliments....you can ask to have them taken away but in my experience this had the opposite effect lol

i always thought the çells were the triangular areas made up between three adjacent masts?

Is Ireland in the English-speaking world?

Are the towers the cells? Or are the cells not the areas served by each tower?
