The Fox at Chetwnd Aston does an apricot bread and butter pudding with clotted cream. It is so wondrous that it has remained a permanent menu fixture while all about it changes. Puddings don't usually interest me. That one does.

You can make bread and butter pudding using hot cross buns. We used do it at work, saves a tiny amount of time, unless you want to add more currants n sultanas to it.

Mmmmm....that would be nicely cinnamonny and sticky....

You can also use brioche if you are a Liberal Democrat.

Carloe-Mines the same,no matter how much I've cooked him for him he spends all evening backwards & forwards from freezer to toaster!

You lot aren't doing my diet any good you know! ;)

Now going mad for everything eggy ......... I have a poached egg on toast most mornings, with marmite . Now craving bread & butter pudding , eggy bread and pancakes for my tea instead of the 'lovely' healthy veg one that I've prepared.

This remarkable egg obsession (fetish?) perhaps explains a remark made to me by an elderly gentleman during a recent to West Wales just last week. During a conversation about local food markets and the availability of equine flavour enhancers in beef he mentioned that many local smallholders sold eggs and other produce via farm gate stalls & honesty boxes; however NOT at weekends when Midland Folk were most likely to be visiting! What cheek!

    Cheek indeed!
I cycled through Eccleshall today and I THINK the butcher had a big tray of bones outside his shop with a sign saying "Free bones please help yourself".

I can't be totally certain because I don't look too closely into butchers' shops and also I had been lost for an hour and had long since run out of jelly tots, my cycling fuel of choice. That said, it would be a pretty strange hallucination for someone who has been vegetarian for 30 years.
