Exactly so.The road systems are laid out poorly in this town I often wonder how a stranger copes if they get in the wrong lane.
Exactly so.
This is why i too adopt a policy of 'don't road rage other road users at any time ever' - for all you know this is the first time they've had to decipher it, they need all the help they can get.
That's my policy too. But I still find the town centre roundabouts and their various lanes confusing, even now having used them for decades. Once in very heavy traffic, I was trying to get from Lichfield Road to the play shed at Tesco, got in the wrong lane at the top of Lichfield Road, was too scared to change lanes and ended up getting to Tesco via the train station.
If I ever find it a bit overwhelming, I remind myself that Ozzy Osbourne once complained that he found Stafford town centre hard to navigate, and if the great Ozzy Osbourne can't cope with it, what hope do I have?
Mumbai? Try Birmingham.May I offer the suggestion of driving in Mumbai for a few hours
Upon your return life will feel serene

Yes, but in fairness that had little to do with road markings and more to do with, er, 'substances' as I remember it.Ozzy could barely manage to drive his lawnmower to the Hand and Cleaver
And he lived next door but one

Nah, he loves me, baby. Are you quite mad?
Kojak will be after you!
Someone told me a story about Ozzy driving his mates back to Ranton after a session elsewhere and promptly crashing into a car parked at the Cleaver. As calm as you like, Ozzy walked into the pub, pulled a roll of banknotes from his pocket and shouted, "who owns the mini outside?" A young man replied, "Me!" To which Ozzy responded, "Well here's some money, you'd better get it fixed."Yes, but in fairness that had little to do with road markings and more to do with, er, 'substances' as I remember it.

Another great thing about this junction is when you are cycling to go straight on, and someone behind who wants to turn left onto the Wolverhampton Road decides to overtake then cut across you to do it. Especially when that someone is in a large van.Why is it that when I drive through these traffic lights, in the left hand lane, to go straight on towards the next set of lights I regularly get cut up by cretins moving in from the right hand lane.
Stafford is difficult for residents - imagine how an outsider copes, and he has to take account of locals doing it wrong, as well as trying to read all the signs and lane markings.
