Cuffy/Skill - Stafford customer service thread - Stafford retailers reports.

Really?

Cuffy - but to the CUSTOMERS of the schoolwear shop in St Marys Mews. What a bunch of foul mouthed whiners when I called in yesterday for a tie. Just because they couldn't be arsed to get the uniform in the last six weeks they start to moan because little Jenny can't have the size she needs. The staff there are nice enough but out of their depth. Its a good job these whiners aren't coming up against the owner who seems to be conspicuous by his absence- he can out whine and out arrogance anyone. I noticed the Shoe shop girls were enjoying the show.

Super-duper Skill points to Stafford Borough Council & also the Highways Department....

I emailed them yesterday morning to ask if the trees in the adjoining street would be cut back this year (its usually done at the becoming of summer) as its difficult to see oncoming traffic when turning into the street & nearly impossible to spot the rabid urchins that like to hide behind them & ride out as you are driving down it....

I got a reply back straight away saying it wasn't the councils responsibility, but, they would pass my email on to the highways department....

.....hey-pesto 2 hours later a load of blokes turn up & trim all the trees back! Yay & thank you to the council & highways department. :)

You must have influence, I've been trying to get the highways to sort some really badly managed stuff for ages, that others have been moaning about too & I'm just met with purile excuses - doesn't surprise me about them being straight out to lop trees - I reckon someone in management has a log burner as they love chopping down trees.

Never underestimate power of @littleme :)

I actually think that it was either a massive coincidence, or that someone hadn't done their job in the first place & that's why it was done so quickly.

I'm not a tree murderer though! They don't lop logs off the trees, the trees (I've no idea what they are, maybe @Gramaisc would know?) grow 3 -4 ft long sprouts from the base of the tree which forms into Bush-like foliage meaning small children & cars can't be seen when turning into the road...

Any chance you could come and speak to the bloke on the end of Jerningham Street then @littleme ? He has a bush/small tree like thingy, growing over his wall and if you're trying turn onto the Doxey Road, you can't see a thing coming!

@darben. -This is the address that I sent my original query to as the website stated that it delt with the boroughs trees & verges ...

CustomerContactCentre@Staffordbc.gov.uk

It can't hurt to jot them a line if you haven't been in contact with them already. Hope this helps. :)

Sorry, not my department if its in his garden. I suggest waiting till he's out & lopping it down yourself, make sure you leave all of the debris/branches in his garden though (it is his property after all), the best place to leave it is directly infront of the front door. ;)

I've tried that one, they just use it to reset the deadline clock from scratch again then don't reply when you query it, it's really scary lazy incompetent arrogant stuff !

Enjoying a drop of red.

It's typical of all councils.

They are in the main staffed by scary, arrogant, incompetent and lazy people; happy to take our money for their salaries and pensions but unwilling and unable to provide a decent service in return.

I'll throw another council complaint on the pile. The recycling bins for the building I live in haven't been emptied for over a month, they've been full for weeks and so residents are throwing their recycling into the general waste bins (which were also unemptied for a month but they finally sorted that last week after weeks of waste were piled up in the car park). This happens at least once a year :(

If you phone them up they're normally really good at getting them collected ASAP. We've had ours missed numerous times and they've always been emptied the day after calling.

Are they?! I do believe you may have some near you too - strangely sticky leaves that quite often have little maggoty things hanging from threads underneath them... ewwww shudder.....

Yes, that's them. I actually live up the posh end of the road ;) so none near me, but I regularly see cars covered in the sticky stuff. Although I'm not keen on the sticky stuff, I do like the trees and the way they turn a shit street of ugly houses in to a tree-lined avenue :), in my imagination anyway haha

The "little maggoty things" are producing a sugary secretion, honeydew, which is the sticky stuff that gets over cars, the pavement and a lot else. Then a black mould moves in on the honeydew ...
