Cycle Paths

We've only ever done roads before, but he managed to get back from Abergele in about 8 hours last year! The canal paths should be interesting, albeit a lot slower. I'll let you know how they get on.

Just remembered I said I'd stick up some details of the journey. Apparently it was bloody difficult going in some places, mud nearly hitting the discs and nettles related to giant redwoods. I have some footage from it, although the wide angle camera was on its side so looks a bit odd (tallscreen?). Its all in JPGs, I'm having a play now to make it a useable video format. I'll up the results when I'm done.

First attempt, got the data rate well wrong! Frame rate is a bit too fast as well, but I'm sure you'll get the idea. The terrain goes crappy around 45 seconds in, this is at 30fps and the camera took a shot every 3s so effectively you are looking at 90 seconds of cycling per 1 second of film (I think?).

Not in my public folder, can anyone see it?

I'm currently dropping it to 20fps so 1s = 1m, and I'll double the data rate. Unfortunately I'm also having to do real work, so may be a while.....

Does now ;)

Looks a fun ride, but not if at the end of it you have a further 40 miles to go! They didn't reach Abergele til gone 11 in the end, much slower than the road route plus they got a lot more injuries :o

EDIT: I should add that the pink bike you see from time to time was a single speed, no chance I'd try that all the way to Wales!

I wish I could go that fast - I might tire out the dogs. I was trying to spot the familiar landmarks as they whizzed past. Excellent piece of film and kudos to the person on the pink bike for tackling the mud, nettles and such a long distance with only one speed. Although, in fairness, my bike has lots of gears but still just the one speed.

I am just getting back into cycling so far off the distances stafford bike club do yet finding the likes of the isobel trail lovely but a bit short.
