I wasn't there today.

But, I might be tomorrow.

If I see one, do I get it for you...?

..I thought you'ld be safe with that quantity there..

Thanks for the offer but don't worry, I'll pick one up next time. There used to be a Lidl 5 minutes from my office perfect for these occasions, but they shut it down for no apparent reason.

40 miles for me today, with a pause at the ice cream farm in Haughton. We followed in Stoofer's tyre tracks past The Fox (is that place EVER quiet?) and from thence to Forton and High Offley. Blissful cycling weather. And now I am shattered.

If anyone is down that way the mawddach trail now extends to Fairbourne. The new sea defences have a 3' minimum path along the top and its easy to cycle, the big hotel/pub is also undergoing a refurb so I hope the place picks up. Certainly if you are in the area there is no reason not to head through.

I can't go to Fairbourne. The ache of nostalgia is too strong. So many childhood visits to watch (never actually alight upon) the little train and catch the motorboat across to the promised land of Barmouth.

I only have to travel a few miles beyond Welshpool before the tears start. My husband refuses to travel with me past Shrewsbury.

Taking the road bikes to The Peak District on Sunday. I am told we are doing 56 miles, which includes the climb out of Edale up Mam Tor. I expect to be walking that bit.

Its a bit rundown now, rather sad. The train is still there though, I'm hoping trade will pick up now its easier to navigate by means other than road (and a road without footpaths at that).

Bloody hell, that was me!

I wish I had realised!

I did Haughton, Church Eaton, Moreton (mahusive hill), Forton, High Offley (ditto) and Woodseaves.

I saw LOTS of other cyclists today and was feeling like a proper rider because everyone said hello.
