Over £5 a glass is craziness in Stafford for christ sake, ok if people order a special brand and want the premium stuff but this was literally just ordered as white / rose.

I have to say that I don't think you're appreciating how much wine costs a pub/bar to buy in. If your idea of the cost is based on the supermarkets and big chain pubs like Weatherspoons, then I'm afraid that's an unrealistic view. Sadly, smaller pubs and bars like Chambers, can't compete on price with these places.
