Ok folks...as I am always getting told to "shut the hell up" at work for posing stupid questions to people, I thought i'd try them here.

My first for your thought tanks is this...

If you could just take 5 films with you on a desert island what would they be...??

Ummm.....so, any ideas? think now...you need something to make you laugh..perhaps cry...perhaps think deeply....oh whatever!

Here are mine and are in no particular order..

1) The Lost Boys ("...there only noodles Michael!..) Love this one!
2) Mad Max 2 ("Don't kill the snake....) Love that one....it's the bes tof the 3!
3) Withnail and I (FORK IT!!!!) You've gotta love that one
4) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas....(we can't stop here...this is bat country!!!) ACE!!
5) Baraka (a visual meditation...fantastic for making you appreciate the world..the hippy in me crying out I guess!!!)

For more details of what rings my bell check out http://www.myspace.com/kharisx

So...over to you guys...

What would you choose!

Another question is on its way soon....

Bet you can hardly wait! ;0)

Hrmm... good topic :)

For me? My five would have to be:
1) A clockwork Orange.. 'When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man'. Love it.
2) The Breakfast Club, circa 1985. It appeals to my inner angsty teen :P
3) Philadelphia, with Tom Hanks. I cry everytime I see this movie. Never get sick of it.
4) The Rage In Placid Lake. An Aussie film, bloody hilarious.
and 5) Evil Dead 3... bloody pisser of a film, always good for a laugh. :D

I'll post my top 5 later too, but the first film that came to mind that never fails to amuse me is Stir Crazy....Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor....comedy genius!

"Yes I'm a short son of a bitch, my daddy was a short son of a bitch, my mother was shorter than him, and my brother, my brother was so short we couldn't even see him."

Ummm,

Glad i've got you all thinking about it...not as easy to come up with quick answers.....and my next question soon to come will hopefully have you all reaching deeper into your psychies...is that how you spell it? Can't help it...honours degree in Psychology 10 years ago...but blah blah...

Anyway, let's see what everyone else comes up with on the movie front...it may shine some light on why films are so naff these days...

Your favorite 5.....pray..please continue folks!

Cuffy is the new skill
i had to think about this some, and my top 5 changes regularly but i decided the only way to do this was to choose films that have stood up for the most repeat viewing. I could have gone all arty and showed off my mediocre film studies but im a populist at heart
As follows in no particular order;

Anchorman - laff out loud funny, sunday 'afternoon delight'.
Saving Private Ryan - i am a geek for anything WW2
Planes, Trains & Automobiles - must have seen this over 50 times, me and Miss Upsetter watch this every year at the start of the Chrimbo holidays...its now a tradition.
Groundhog Day - early forumites will know of my  of Bill Murray, and it was a toss up between this or A Life Aquatic..but the classic wins by a nose.
Empire Strikes Back - if i could have the entire sextology in here i would, but ESB wins.

well me avatar is actually Deputy Police Chief Dwayne T. Robinson a la Die Hard, but im being pedantic Lisa! :eng101:
Apart from Bill Murray, my other favourite actor is Paul Gleason , who IMO has had some of the best one liners in movie history, delivered as only he can. He always played the movie 'asshole'

RIP.
