So nice to see flags and bunring popping up around town as we countdown to the celebrations
Full marks so far have to go to vine street with the brilliant red, white and blue knitted socks on the bollards and sign posts.
So what have you seen or are doing to celebrate?
No matter what your feelings (or not) about the monarchy i hope we all can have fun over the coming bank holidays.

Watch the jubilee on the screens in the Swan, marquee with a four day festival of beer & live music, plus free sunshine!

The street with the vine in, for it has always been known as such to the cognoscenti (when blotto)

The village of bednall looks wonderful. A whole weekend of events planned.
Bunting from one end of the village to the other and every other house has also put out the bunting, the flags and various other jubilee themed decorations. It really is heartwarming to see so many villagers getting in the spirit.
Sat, house decorating competition. Sun, street party and Monday party in the field.

I saw the bollards covered in socks in vine st.

Oh bless, the woman in the knitting shop has been busy.

But still, it's all a bit lame compared to my village.

It's just joy to behold, flags, bunting and decorations everywhere.

We have been watching the jubilee from afar as we are holidaying in France. Looks like inspite of the dreadful weather it seems everyone has enjoyed themselves. Couldn't help myself by going onto the Guardian's website and read the gritted through the teeth reports and the comments by the assorted saddo's. It was reported that there was a anti monarchy protest on sunday and whilst I respect their views I do think they're pissing in the wind if they think this country is to become a republic any day soon.

I haven't enjoyed it. My telly has remained firmly off as has my radio. I am bored of wall to wall jubilee drivel - the country has gone stark raving bonkers. Does anyone actually stop to think about how completely irrational it is to engage in this bizarre worship of the Queen? Or that the monarchy actually represents a lot of what is wrong with the country? A lot of people wouldn't vote for the principles that the royal family stand for of elitism, so why the hell are they celebrating the jubilee? It is completely beyond me.

You mention the Grauniad - in recent days they've printed a great deal of crap on the subject. This is one of the few sensible articles however:

I feel better for that rant.
