I've just started contributing to one so haven't really got into the nuts and bolts just yet; I'm just posting articles and photos at the moment.

i use wordpress firewall on mine so kinda blocks alot of the vulnerabilities

The vulnerability is in quite a few premium themes and plugins. I recommend anyone running WP check anyway. Takes two mins and better safe than sorry imho.

very true, i do have a security scanner on mine too which does check for me. but very solid advise for other users of wp
