Riverside was built about 1976.

Tesco Food Hall was in Superdrug until about 1977/8 - the Home'n'Wear section was in Market Street, next to Lloyd's Bank.

Interestingly the market Street site was once home to Victor Value where the late Bob Monkhouse did a promotion for eggs......

edit: circa 1965......

If there's no joy in B&Q or Wickes, then try Viking on Greyfriars or one of the fencing suppliers - even Travis Perkins.

You may not get it much more than two meters in length, but using two would be no harm.

Or get a square post and cut it diagonally lengthwise?

I dont know why, but I didnt think B&Q or Wickses would sell such a thing...

There isn't a lot of call for it - it is used on a certain style of fence panel, though....

You could make something with a plank and a few triangular wedges - and it would be lighter.

A longer, narrower version of this -

You could get a better slope that way, as well.

Yes - good idea, although it needs to be something (a weak & feeble me) that I can shift out of the way pretty quickly as we live on a corner & it couldnt stay there....

Properly designed, it could be quite light...

..as it's on a curve, a few shorter ramps would be beneficial, anyway...

Wickes have what they call a "backing rail" - a semi-circular rail, about three inches in diameter and about eight feet long - http://www.wickes.co.uk/search?text=backing+rail - for under a fiver.

If your curb is not too high, it would probably do the job.

i will (subject to the weather) have the roof bars on tomorrow, if you want one.

Ahhh thank you, not needed quite yet but will keep it in mind. Also kerb is high, but not curved as we are the last straight bit before the bend. Just trying to think of ideasbefore the next ice-age....

Some B&Q's have facilities to cut wood, not sure but it might be work asking if they can slice a large 4" fence post diagonally long its length. Wouldn't fancy trying it with a normal saw.

Im decorating. :(

In the room I am decorating, there is a small white Virgin box at skirting level with a cable coming through the wall from outside to it. (I think it was either internet or a phone line).

The box has been bumped by me moving the bed & is no longer attached to the wall.

The box is no longer in use & is in the way.

1) Is it safe for me to cut the cable to the box (its the only thing holding the box there) & shove the cable back into its hole so that I can then paper over it?

2) Should I turn the electric off first?

3) Should I leave the stupid thing alone?

Many thanks Forumites x

Can you post a picture of said box and it's cabling?

Also do you know how your current service provider gets cables into your house?
