Dog food warning on facebook

It seems to be a fairly old hoax.

In February, 2016, a B&M spokesperson, said:

“Our supplier of this pet treat carries full health certificates for all their products, we can confirm these products do not contain harmful antibiotics.

“We sell more than two million packs a year without incident, as do other pet retailers across the UK.

“Please rest assured that these treats are safe for your pet to enjoy and that we take the quality and safety of our products very seriously.”

There may have been an element of truth a lot further back in time - possibly.

There are some decidedly dodgy pet treats around.
Its not so much what they are ( eg. pigs ears ) , its how they have been produced.
Some stuff is washed in a bleach solution , others filled so much of random chemicals its a wonder they dont glow in the dark.

I try to stick to as much natural stuff as i can but it can be hard sometimes.

Sowing disinformation via social media is the new corporate espionage.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of B&Ms competitors started the rumour circulation.

I find it difficult to put much trust in the food producers for all species these days. Kind of sad really because boycotting food in general leads to an inevitable result. And I'm not picking on any particular kind of foods here, (Vegans please note.) When profit becomes the primary motive, who can trust anything ?
(Or is my inbuilt cynicism getting the better of me ?)

Some years ago now I had a small a sachet of sugar I'd acquired flying on an aircraft to some part of the world or other, which I kept for years because I thought it was funny. This was when regulation insisted the chemical content of the package had to be printed on the rear side. It listed an enormous quantity of complex chemical compounds that you would have had to have a degree in chemistry in order to understand, and even then you'd be struggling given the colossal size of some of those molecules. But it ended with the words: 'plus artificial colouring and other additives.' This is why I kept it and thought it was funny .. :teef:.

Forget the complex chemistry, what does that statement mean ? …….. plutonium ? unobtainium ?

Sadly somewhere along the line I lost it, or I would be writing it line for line on here. ( I figure some black ops agent for a food company picked my pocket and nicked it back sometime. Yes, I'm still wearing my bacofoil hat. :heyhey: )
