Ducks...

can't find another post on here about this so hope I am not repeating it..

some ducks were killed near asda yesterday I believe, some girls had it on video of them walking across the road, all cars had stopped and then some girl ( i was told) in a red ford, ran them over and run all the red lights dangerous driving..

does anyone know anymore on this story?

i want to find out where the ducks went that survived, the mum and some ducklings?

id also like to request to the council we have some signs up for ducks stating warning ducks crossing road, or something, do you think it would save lives?

i didn't see the video or know much else but i am a huge animal lover and its made me quite angry to hear about it :soz:

"by Adsa" changed to "near Asda", to avoid ambiguity.

At certain times duck warning signs appear on Astonfields Road, whether they have any significant effect on duck mortality, I'm not sure.

Similar toad warning signs appear on Eccleshall Road, too.

I read a similar post on FB that says it was a deliberate swerve to hit the ducks - but not seen anything evidetial.

This post makes it appear that someone from Asda killed the ducks....it's a little ambiguous I think.

Reading it through throughly, I can see that you mean that they were killed "near to" Asda.

Horrid person if they did this deliberately though.

Just for the sake of it, I've nipped round to see if the Astonfields signs are there now and...

...this is on the lamppost by the entrance to the windscreen place.

See what the Council say about your suggestion.

no it doesnt? it says by asda, not that asda did it, but it was by it.

Yes I know what you mean.

I'm just saying that when a person writes something, they know what they mean, but one has to take into account how it might be perceived by other people reading it.

So for clarification, when you write "ducks killed by Asda"

Some people might thinks that the ducks "were killed by Asda." As opposed to " on the road BY Asda"

See the difference?

Asda do probably have quite a few dead ducks, both fresh and frozen, but probably not quite so locally sourced as today's event.
