Smallest daughter is 9yrs old & we go to ...

Wolseley Brigde visitors centre - good if you like walks & have energetic kids that need to burn off steam- we took a picnic last time, & the centre often have displays or talks or theme days (we went to a bat talk last time). The website will tell you what they are doing & when.

Brampton Park Museum in Newcastle - lots of set up Victorian style rooms in the museum & they have a display downstairs that changes quite frequently - we went about a month ago to see Terry Pratchett illustrations & display, they also do some 'making' activitys (some you have to pay for), but museum entry is free (donations welcome).
Its set in a small park, there's some caged birds to look at, a outdoor play park & a cafe that has a indoor wacky warehouse type room inside - its really cheap & I think the little brats can play all day.
Parking is free & its only a 10 min walk down the hill into town.

Husband says Jodrell Bank is good, but we've never taken smallest daughter.

I'm keeping a note of all these. Lots of fab ideas, some I've never been to, some I had forgotten about. Thank you
