Lunar Scorpion

Anarchy in the UK
I heard off someone who heard off someone that the BNP have been leafleting in this area. If anyone has any further information, even better a copy of the leaflet that I could have, please let me know as a matter of urgency.

I don't know about you, but I am not exactly pleased that fascists could be spreading hateful, very often inaccurate, material around the town. I am not really surprised that this kind of thing wouldn't bother a Tory.

Any chance of stopping all the other Parties spreading inaccurate material around the town?

That would be amazing if we could....

And while we're at it, NO MORE clothing collection bags, I must get 2 per week...

Oh and Pizza menu's, once per month is MORE than enough.... nevermind once a week.

Oh god the number of people who actually buy into this crap are so few that its irrelevant anyway, much in the same way the Lib Dems are irrelevant.

Well after the BS I hear from some of those charity collectors, they need banning too.

Let's ban everything, just in case. In the name of freedom, of course.

Political leaflets can be quite amusing if you look at them carefully. I kept a UKIP one ( I think ) which contained the following imponderable complaint.

'European countries buy more from us than we sell to them'. Would it be better if it was less? Please show your working in any answers.

Just a thought (I can't be arsed to research it), but is the BNP operating within the law? If so, surely they're no different to jews? They have a vastly different view on life and how things should be than I do, but that doesn't make them wrong. Nobody is wrong as such, if they are operating within the boundaries of society. And if they are not, is it society that got it wrong?

I probably despise organised religion as much as LS hates the BNP, yet if I kicked off about the parish leaflets we used to get it'd be ME in trouble :(

Would it not make sense to try and lobby the current government to actually do something about racism like make it illegal? I know its illegal but like almost every other crime in this country doesn't actually carry a propper punishment.

Personally I'd rather you got a job than protested and paid tax like the rest of us and then collectively lobby the government to build a couple of new hotels, sorry, prisons and lock racists up. Along with all the other criminals who get away with everything because there is no space for them because their parents / uncles / aunts etc. are already filling the places they were destined for.

Organised religion is fine mate, I don't see the problem with it, if people are stupid / weak / naive enough to get brainwashed into this blind faith thats their problem. Religion doesn't really cause any problems here any more, even extremeists are so few and far between (consider how many attacks we've had compared to our population and then the muslim population). As for anywhere else, well they should be left alone to fight like idots over their opposing false idols. IMO of course.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's a matter or perception. All of the gubbins which comes through my door gets scanned, instantly decided whether or not its worth reading and then read or recycled. Again if you believe everything you read you're a dumbass. Whats really frustrating is the number of trees required to make all of this paper, all of the oil used in making and delivering these flyers when its not necessary and god knows (although he probably doesn't ;) ) what other harm to the environment is achieved by printing these useless flyers. In the digital age we should he able to do away with most of this.

The fact is, it matters when they try to convince me they are right, and I am wrong. If they keep to themselves, I don't care. Same with racists, think what you like, we're not the thought police. Do something about this belief, expect to get a slap - that goes for nazis or mormons, I aint fussy.

Are you a Scientologist, then?

This could interweave with the Tom Cruise thread and blow us all to oblivion/heaven/hell/wherever.

you can't just lock racists up.. racism isn't a crime any more than paedophilia is a crime, or bestiality, etc.. you can't get locked up just for thinking black people smell, or fancying kids, or dreaming about bumming your dog.. it only becomes illegal once you commit an act based on these feelings..

the BNP could potentially be prosecuted for inciting racial hatred if they got out of hand, but other than that there's not much one can do.. fortunately, the vast majority of people are of sound enough mind to realise that they're all stinky doo-doo heads and don't want anything to do with them..

I disagree, organised religion is unlikely to carry out a hate crime, be it bullying, discrimination, violence etc. based on your belief whereas it's much more likely that a racist person would take action against the race they ignorantly hate. People brainwashed into religion harm no one except in very extreme cases, whereas people brainwashed into racism will have an adverse effect on the lives of others.

I agree with your second point though, yes you can think what you like, however offering someone religion and offering someone a reason to hate another are two completely different things.

Thats what I meant, sorry I should have stipulated this. Of course thinking / feeling what you want is fine, providing you don't act upon it.
