We are now selling our excess eggs from our own flock of chickens for £1.80 per dozen.
We pride ourselves on using the best quality feed, and as a result the yolks are the most gorgeous deep (and almost orange) colour.

23 Blakiston Street. House is on the top corner - payphone situated around the corner. If there's an egg sign up in the front window then we're at home and have eggs available. If no sign we're either out of the house - or out of eggs!!

All boxes are dated 4 weeks from the date of lay for best freshness, although they can be useable for up to 6 weeks in total.

PLEASE NOTE - For legal reasons, as you are coming to our property to purchase it is classed as "farm gate egg sales" and as such we do not need to be a registered egg producer. ;)

Until recently we charged £1.50 and have done for several years. Obviously feed prices have increased several times since then and we decided not to be greedy and just call it £1.80. I know the going rate is £2 but at £1.80 it covers the costs and it's more of a hobby than a profit maker anyway. ;)

Just bought a couple of ducks too, but at the rate my wife bakes cakes I doubt we'll have any spare duck eggs to sell, although I hear the going rate for those is £3 or more per dozen.

Pretty damn good eggs these too, my mrs said so!

(I don't eat eggs, but she assures me they were excellent).

Serious shortage now I'm afraid - demand for them has been huge! SHOULD just about have a dozen to spare by the morning with tomorrow's lay, so I'll save them for you if you want to give me a knock - the sign wont be in the window though but still knock

Any sign of panic-buying?

Had to increase our laying flock now to try and meet demand. Will be hit and miss on when we have them available for next 2 to 3 weeks, but then should have more laying and have plenty to go around. Also price is now £2 a dozen which everyone seems quite happy to pay.

We also now have a limited availability of DUCK eggs. These are much richer than a chicken egg and slightly oily. They're not to everyone's taste but some people prefer them to chicken eggs, and they also make delicious sponges for the cake maker amongst us. £1.50 for 6 when available.

Well, a sudden rush of egg customers made me stock up on hens, and then the custom seemed to drop and all the rain we had made the land a bit of a mess so I've now sold off a load of my stock and just kept enough for our own egg use.

Therefore eggs for sale = no more, but thanks to those of you who did buy some from us

Too bad ... although I don't eat that many eggs, my parents loved them as they were so fresh and much better than the supermarket ones. Let us know if you plan on selling again!
