Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
No. 8 bus this morning on Stone Road. Disabled chap I see most days running as fast as he could to get to the stop, the bus waited til he drew alongside the door then drove off. Poor show, would have taken you less than 30 seconds to do the guy a favour :(
Hope you reported it.

Three times I have seen cars and lorries heading towards Stone, approach the Shire Horse roundabout from Stone along the A34, in the left hand lane - and then turn right to head towards the M6!!! Once, I was going to head straight ahead from Stone to Stafford, I was in the right hand lane, there was a lorry slightly ahead of me in the left lane. I signalled left to warn drivers I was going to drive straight on, I held back slightly just in case the lorry turned right. Lots and behold, that's exactly what he did - used the left hand lane around the roundabout and turned right!! He could have taken me out!!! And it wasn't even a European truck either!!!

Another example was in Stone on the new roundabout they've built recently, a people carrier turns right and uses the left hand lane, almost colliding with the car in the right hand lane.

Such awful driving!!! Really really shoddy!!! Piss poor!!! It makes me sad to think how driving around Stafford has gone down the urinal.

Trucks do it because, I suspect, if they try to turn left off the roundabout from the right lane of a two-lane roundabout, they run a fair risk of a car trying to undertake them. Sad, but it might well be a safer move these days.

There are a few places around Stafford where driving in the correct lane is a dodgy move.

Being in the wrong lane is quite a strong tradition in Stoke - I was once a rear seat passenger in a car that turned right from the leftmost of three lanes...

Examples required??

It's still pretty shocking driving tbh, even by a lorry driver. And if a car went around the inside of a lorry in the left lane to undertake them whilst turning right, then they need banning from the road and a stint in Stafford Gaol.

Going toward Junction 14 on the dual carriageway, intending to head to Eccleshall, you should be in the right-hand lane at the roundabout, as you're taking the third exit.

Good luck if you try it.

Keep your eyes open for the others.

That would have to actually happen a good few times before enough people got the message. In the meantime, the lorry driver has a car stuck under his trailer and a lot of disruption to his day, even if he gets off scot-free, which is not guaranteed, by any means.

It would be nice if people drove to the rules, but they won't and it won't be enforced much, if at all.

Lorries may also stay left to navigate the roundabout, likely they wouldn't may the turn on the inside as it tight. Not without mounting the central reservation, plus the back end would end up in the left lane which id more dangerous

Not in Stafford, but worthy of a mention - this fence was recently removed and the wall extended upwards, to match the wall to the right. A couple of days later, it was knocked down by a car running down the drive opposite and straight across the road, due to the handbrake not being applied. This resulted in the occupant of those premises walking around the town rather more than has been usual in recent years....

Why is no-one signals left when turning left at The Shire Horse roundabout to go down the A518 from the North. Really infuriates me!! Saw another van driver turn right around the Darlaston Inn roundabout this morning in the left hand lane..

What is wrong with these people??

Possibly because the A518 is the other side of town :)

Totally agree with the lack of indication and lack of lane protocol on the roads.

I drove back from Brands yesterday and lost count of the amount of near misses caused through poor discipline and ill manners.

Bizarrely, Beaconside is the A513.

Equally bizarrely, the three other roads leaving that roundabout are all the A34.

Quite bizarre that :)

Does the A513 only run from the Shite Hawk to the Weston road or is it recontinued elsewhere a la the A34 is recontinued in various parts of the country?

It also runs from the two mini-roundabouts, at the top of Radford Bank, to Wolseley Bridge.

Today, whilst waiting to enter the Junction 14 roundabout, on the way back from Eccleshall, I was prevented by a line of cars streaming down from the motorway - fair enough, that's how it works.

The last car was an Audi, some way behind the rest of the queue, but arriving at speed (of course) - and it was indicating left - honestly, it was, the indicator was actually on, difficult though that may be to believe.

I was so startled by this unique occurrence that I was unable to put my car into gear, release the handbrake and pull out onto the roundabout.

Which was just as well, really, as he was indicating left to go up the link road to Redhill.

Did he use the left-hand lane??
