Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Had a fine fantastic upstanding member of society slam into the back of my car in their 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe this morning on the M6.......then promptly drove off...I stopped and pulled over to the hard shoulder they sped off....managed to catch up with them at J3 (just so happened to be the junction I was getting off at too....result!) flagged her down to pull over and she sped off again almost causing 2 more accidents...unfortunately I couldn't catch her again as traffic was too heavy and would have been too dangerous....so if anyone should happen to see a dark blue battered Hyundai Santa Fe registration ET05 YHM......avoid at all costs!

Thankfully for her no damage was done to my car....

Sent them a message on farcebook ;)
I grabbed the photos off a friend's FB account. I don't know if they've taken it further, but will leave it to them. They have included "#Metrorod" in the post, though I don't know if hashtags work outside of Twitter.

Chell Road filter - traffic moving at 15-20mph but an arse in a BMW had to come round the outside and force their way in, right at the head of the filter. Now, there's taking chances, there's using the filter correctly, but then there is forcing your way in and only looking at who you want to get ahead of rather than looking at the oncoming traffic. This muppet was probably still 3 foot over the white lines as they went through Sainsburys lights. I'm still amazed we haven't had a bad head on, along that stretch!

Interesting....No wonder she didn't want to stop?

With no witnesses and it now being 48 hours since the incident...not a great deal I can do is there?

They've apologised and said they will be dealing with the engineers in question.

Chell Road - AGAIN!
If you keep having near misses on the same section of road you may wish to look at your own driving to see how these incidents can be reduced. Understand nobody has right of way ever on UK roads, only priority. Chell Road from goal square you should allow vehicles to merge in turn using a zipper technique as per section 134 of the highway code.
Just my 2 cents

Well said. Far too many self-righteous idiots use both lanes here.

What's so bloody difficult for left lane users to understand about a Use Both Lanes sign and a filter arrow?

Puttin my bit in, the zipper technique is fine, I have no problem with it. What does piss me off is as @gilbert grape says

Chell Road - AGAIN! Nearly had to get out and see if she'd taken paint off, cutting me up at the end of the filter to gain one place!
You queue for absolutely ages to have some flash git whizz up the side and try n get to the front, all to save him/her a couple of minutes.
They make no effort to 'join in' the queue.

A fortnight ago, I was driving south from the M6 onto the M5. (I would have preferred to avoid it, but needing to get to Edgbaston and the Aston Expressway being down, I thought I'd do M6/M5 and and live with the delay.)

Anyway, as you come off the M6 you meet signs saying the lanes will merge right, into the outside lane in 800 yards .... and the more considerate drivers start moving right, which is what I did. I could see in my mirrors that in the distance, there were the usual 'flash gits' whizzing up the left hand side to merge right at the very last moment, so I thought "Stuff 'em", and moved back into the left hand lane and sat there matching the speed of the car I'd just been behind. The first approaching car sat behind me looking a bit peeved and a little way on joined the queue on the right, but the one behind them moved onto the hard shoulder, overtook us both and drove off into the distance. I eventually moved right 200 yards before the two lanes merged, with no further incident.

Thoughts?

I must admit I've half been expecting a letter about it, from plod or whoever. I've seen lorries do this sort of thing where the fast lane merges with the slow lane, but never the other way round.

I do look at my own driving thank you very much and THAT is why I get pissed off with the behaviour of others. I've never been one to just shrug and say "that's life!" - I also use the zipper technique when using both lanes, correctly. When somebody puts their foot down and rides the white line to get one place in front of you/anybody they take unnecessary risk. This muppet just sat there at the red light tying her hair up and taking no notice! Didn't get far.

You should join the shorter queue then merge at the end there are 2 queues on this section of road. If at the end of the queue you have waited 2 minutes longer then the person next to you then you joined the wrong queue that is not there fault be polite and allow them to zipper.

I do something similar, usually if more than a couple of cars take the pish.

I say well done for having the balls to do it without the weight of a heavy HGV behind you.

Using zip lanes with British motorists is perhaps an act of faith in a sense of community that has little basis in reality any more?
