Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

The inference of what you're saying about paying tax is that you think you have "more right" than a cyclist... But motoring taxes do not cover the costs imposed by motor cars.
I would suspect that a majority of cyclists are also motorists and, so, do also pay motoring taxes.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Indeed.

Unfortunately there's a fair share of tw*ts whatever form of transport you choose to mention and for example, a tw*t on a bike is likely to behave like a tw*t when on foot or driving a car.

The majority of road users are perfectly innocuous, but get forgotten about precisely because of that.

A34 towards Stone this morning on way to work. Red Megane in inside lane doing about 55mph, I pull out to overtake and it speeds up, so I drop in behind again, then it drifts back down to about 55mph, so I pull out again and lo and behold it speeds up again to about 62-63mph, at this point I'm decide I'm not dropping back in behind and playing silly games so I stick it out on the outside.
Trouble is that I've now got 2 lads in a silver Peugeot up my arse who decide I'm the problem and are flashing headlights. I stay in outside lane doing approx 65mph to try and clear the Megane but it still keeps speeding up/slowing down.
As we hit Stone the Megane pulls to the outside lane approaching the roundabout, I duck to the inside as I'm going straight on, Peugeot has same idea but I'm already changing lane so he has to swerve back to outside... I end up window down with angry lads in Peugeot giving me gyp at the roundabout about me not pulling to left !!!!
I don't actually blame the lads in the Peugeot as from behind it would look like I was hogging the outside but the Megane driver needs shooting :grr:

In both of those circumstances, did it really hurt to be considerate to pedestrians? Being in a motor car doesn't give you superiority over other road users.

When you're cycling in a group, it isn't safe to cycle in a long single file line due to knobs in cars....

After your first paragraph its a little ironic to talk about common courtesy!!

The inference of what you're saying about paying tax is that you think you have "more right" than a cyclist... But motoring taxes do not cover the costs imposed by motor cars.

What exactly is your problem, is it like selective deafness where you just choose to read the bits you want to and skip out the rest.

Where exactly in my post did I suggest that I had not been considerate of the pedestrians, I didn’t hit any, I wasn’t driving irresponsibly or at and unsafe speed, I didn’t abuse anyone etc. I was simply commenting on the fact that there were a great number of pedestrians that weren’t paying attention when crossing the road. Or is that something that isn’t allowed???????

Let me guess, you’re one of the ignorant bike riders in the bright orange tops!

Also with the above, where in my post do I say a car has more right to the road that the bike? Oh yeah I DON’T!!!!!!!

Also again where do I say I have behaved in my driving that is anyway lacking in common courtesy, Oh yeah I DIDN’T.

Maybe learn to read first and then pass judgment.

Maybe not explicitly, but when you say "(cyclists) believe they have more right to the roads than those who pay road tax and fuel tax..." the inference is that the car user has more rights on account of their payment of the aforementioned taxes. This is perhaps not what you mean, but it certainly sounds that way, otherwise why bring it up at all?

I wasn't suggesting either party has more right to use the road, I just object to the attitude of the cycling group.

Young lad coming down the A513 towards the double roundabout at the top of Radford Bank, driving his silver fiesta, decided for no apparent reason, to swerve across the road and nearly hit the white van in front of me head on.... didn't look like he was nodding off so I suspect he was sending text messages while driving... as you do :soz:

Just managed to evade a head on collision tonight, I was driving towards Stafford from eccleshall, when a driver heading towards Eccy just pulled out to overtake a lorry on a hill I had to break to allow that car to clear the lorry, but this nutter had another right behind him who nearly smacked straight into me, and if you were those drivers I hope you are as shaken up as I am right now. We were all nearly a&e cases tonight.

Worst thing I've seen for a while hasn't been Motorists, rather cyclists putting them selves and motorists at risk - On Thursday morning on way to work I observed some guy, on a bike, complete with site gear and safety hat (not helmet) riding against the traffic up the Lichfield Road! On the way home another guy on a bike riding down the middle of the right hand lane with no lights, wearing dark clothing, in the dark. Both obviously had a death wish!

I must be attracting them recently...

Driving back from Gnosall way yesterday lunchtime and a male in a Yaris in front of me (with a brake light out) was all over the road, firstly nearly hit the verge so then corrected himself and seconds later was half way into the oncoming lane and nearly hit a car coming the other way..... idiot!!!

Again no obvious reason for him being like that except being drunk (which I don't think it was) or something else in the car (mobile phone, car stereo...?) was so important, it was worth killing himself and other innocent people for.

More like near death experience, walking the dog last night on Newport Road in Eccy. A transit type van was coming from Newport at about 50 mph I would guess (30 limit there) I could see that the interior light was on and the driver was leaning across to the passenger side, looked like he was ferreting about in the glove box. He mounted the kerb just in front of me and his bumper literally brushed against my leg. Well shaken I can tell you.

Did you get the registration number? A muppet like that needs reporting.

Unfortunately not, he was gone before I could gather my wits.
Be grateful it was only your wits you had to gather!

One can only hope that when this person does have an accident (as they inevitably will at some point with that level of inattention to driving) it is into an empty field or some such and not into an innocent pedestrian or on-coming driver.

Driving back to & from the hospital earlier this morning I saw some Very Stooopid, Stooopid people, especially in these icy conditions.

Queing in traffic on Cannock Road going toward Weeping Cross an ambulance was racing up behind with sirens & lights flashing. Everyone one trying to inch over to give it room to get past..........the white van behind me decided this was his chance to pull into the middle of the road to gain a few places and blocked the ambulance off!!

A cyclist in front of me crossing from St.Thomas's Street to Dartmouth street just wobbled straight across despite the fact there were cars going both ways and came within a fraction of an inch of hitting one of them. One very lucky to be alive cyclist.

Then driving along Riverway a dark blue saloon raced past me (with young lads in it, so obviously showing off in front of his mates),completely ignoring the fact a car was coming the other way, didn't gain anything as he had to stop in a queue at red lights by Lloyds bank anyway and when the lights went to green he screeched across towards the retail park.

Approaching Radford Bank saw some bike lights approaching on my side of the road ahead. A cyclist was overtaking everyone on the wrong side of the white line, but then towards the bottom of the bank swerved straight in front of one of the cars onto the pavement.

No wonder there's so many accidents recently.
