Good point. If anyone would care to claim a spoilt paper please do so - in as graphic a way as you feel necessary.

Bugger, thats why I got up early! Ah well, I'll vote after work.

EDIT: My polling card says I can only vote 7pm to 10pm, I thought it said 7am!

Yup, was open. My card definately says 7pm though! Also we seem to have 2 polling stations in the same street, one at the Holmcroft community centre and another at the church?

Anyway, voted and added to the poll.

You can vote 7am to 10pm - whatever your card actually says. Some council elections are on today, but not here.

But only just, and these forums probably aren't that good a representation of the town. The main thing is to make sure you vote, or you lose your right to complain about things!

This poll isn't even an accurate reflection of the forum, as I f**ked it up and accidentally clicked null vote. Lets hope I managed to put my vote in the correct box and not just drew on the desk.

Very true... if you read the views of a small but VERY VOCAL minority on here you would think that the Conservatives were related to the devil, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden and Hitler.

The facts are though, Liebour have had how many years and done nothing much, the Lib Dems want to sell us out to Europe, ditch the pound and put us in a sinking ship with Greece...

Who else is there to vote for?

Oh and it amazes - I noticed on a friends facebook last week someone said "i'm not voting for the conservatives, look what Thatcher did to the country".... my reply was "Thatcher (although terrible) is in the past and we need to vote for the present and the future".... the original poster took that to mean I was defending the Cons and not just trying to get her to think about who she votes for base on policies and so said "So slimey sleazy public school fag for pm?? I'm voting monster raving loony all the way!!!"

It worries me how people choose to vote... human nature I suppose... that and the wonder of living in a democratic society.

the girls in the office here were saying they weren't going to bother voting as a lot of them are first/second time voters and felt like they wouldnt make much difference as all the parties corrupt anyway, I pointed out that if they didn't vote none of them had the right to complain about state of the country as they had the option to make a difference in theory
