Despite all their immediate controversy, FIFA are currently running a competition for their Puskás Award for the Best Goal - the public have the means to influence this to some extent - http://www.fifa.com/ballon-dor/puskas-award/index.html - it will be interesting if Stephanie Roche does actually win - I see that they've been careful to avoid using her full name under the thumbnail.....

I wonder how they count the votes? You can vote again rather easily, so it'd be mad to trust actual clicks, but then again if it was 1 vote per IP address that means ones from people at work wouldn't count.

One has to suspect that they treat the public votes quite "Strictly", and the final verdict will be the one they wanted anyway...
