I have been looking at getting a permit to fish Doxey Marshes, does anyone have any up to date info on how it is fishing?

I am also interested in Baswich Pool and the River Sow fishery, has anyone fished it?

Are there any other places local to fish that can be recommended?

The river Sow, I've caught perch, dace, gudgeon, pike, crayfish, mind you that
was 50 odd years ago, and the pike from by the gasworks pipe was delicious.

I've heard rumours of barbell being caught in the river.

I think I will get a permit, it's only £15.00, and just work my round the pools and try them all out.

If there are any other forumites who fish we could have a forum fishing day out with BBQ of course!

Just spent the day fishing Baden Hall and caught some nice carp but the place is full of crayfish!

Caught two and had to bring them home with me so if anyone fancies a couple of crayfish to cook let me know.

These are American Crayfish which are a non-native invasive species which kill our native Crayfish. Big fines for returning them alive!

The American Crayfish are twice as big and the underside of the claws are red, chances of catching a native crayfish is slim but if you kill one there are big penalties so it's a difficult situation!
