General Election 2017

It's exactly this looking forward to removing him which is causing all the problems. Surely what matters is what the members want, nobody really gives a crap what the MPs want. He's won 2 leadership contests but all he gets is malice from his own team, they actually look keen to lose the election when they should be getting behind him to have the best attempt they can!

One things for sure, if he's replaced with another Blair type I can't vote for them again.

Can't help feeling the only way forward is going to be a party split, ensuring the Conservatives get a decent amount of time before they see competition again :(

I wonder who gets to keep the name?

If it splits then it won't really matter.

Very true, it'll be a fair few elections before anyone else becomes credible opposition as until then Labour votes will be split between centrists and the left.

What happened to the good old days where blue was right, red was left and the yella fella's sat in the middle? At least everyone knew where they stood, now we've had yellow in with blue and red where yellow were.

Having lost a vote of confidence 170something to 40something, and being 15 points behind in the polls, it was always going to happen.

The counter-revolution begins, comrades, on 12 June

Think of the Parliamentary Labour Party as a regiment ordered over the top in the First World War. The soldiers know the generals haven’t a clue. They know the battle was lost before it began. The only question in their minds is who makes it back from the slaughter. .....

Just had a conversation about this, and I'm now convinced labour are sunk for maybe 3 elections. The left thinkers won't have another Blair, the centrists want to be conservative lite, the party is basically loved as it'll only ever get half the votes it used to. Labour membership is up over 100% under Corbyn, they won't stay if he gets replaced by blue labour. If labour stay central I guess the greens will pick up a lot of votes? It's a sad time when nearly every party is right of centre.

When can I get off this island?

To leave is a good idea

But to arrive where?

And yet you are happy to toss out the baby because you don't like the pallor of the bath water...
What's the point of keeping banging your head against the wall?
We could learn a thing or two from them, perhaps we should join some sort of alliance with them to our mutual benefit?
As I've said before, a Europe of sovereign Nations cooperating and trading with each other, Yes. A one size fits all United States of Europe with centralised power, No.

This may be a bit out of date. The latest suggests Labour are picking up Libdem voters and (to a lesser extent than shown on the graphic) the Tories are picking up UKIP voters.

I guess from that I'm a re-leaver, the problem is I think may will not get us a good deal. Tbh I'm not sure she'll get us a deal at all, I'm not a betting man but largely suspect it'll be wto defaults. Which leaves us screwed.

Interesting article, unsure of the pic though. Is it meant to show may crushing the north, or tossing the country off?

I'm in the Stone constituency and the Labour candidate (who stood last time) lives near Preston. Suggests to me they know they haven't got a hope.
