Go Sen's Go

3-1 down to the Anaheim Ducks, The Ottawa Senators have to win tonight or its curtains in the best of 7 series.

I became a Sen's fan in 2003 when myself and three colleagues appeared on the ice in the ScotiaBank Place Stadium infront of 17,000 amused and bemused Ice Hockey fans. We had a two on two alternative Hockey competition during one of the two intervals! Wearing our street shoes and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue T-shirts we slipped and slid around the ice falling over with monotonous regularity, while trying to slap as many tennis balls as we could into the opposing net, said balls having been released from the roof. Needless to say we provided plenty of amusment, spills and falls, and the two oldies beat the whipper snappers, I still have my winners T-shirt.

As I write, its 1-0 to the Ducks, B****X, I'll let you know the result, dig out a photo, and perhaps tell the tale of how four firemen from Staffs wound up watching Hockey in the Canadian Capital, and then got invited on the ice to entertain the locals.

Damn! Ducks win 6-2 on the night, the series 4-1 and so are the new Stanley Cup winners :?:

I missed most of the game due to some wally smoking in a cupboard at the Hospital and setting off the smoke alarm at 2.00 am. Took us ages to find the offending cupboard, good job we didn't find the offending Wally!
