I have got a great promo / competition idea for the Guildhall Centre. Take a look at the video from 4 years ago and tell them the shops that are still actually trading. Winner gets a £10 JJB voucher

Maybe they could have a bonus prize for anyone who can find that elusive café culture that they bang on about.

That is actually a decent promotional video. It's a shame that The Guildhall looks more like a post apocalyptic wasteland when you walk through it.

Guildhall is screwed, centres are suffering more than the high street. Big issues are that when businesses closed down nationally such hmv jjb and phones4 u there is not a great deal out there to replace them. With the new complex nobody with a brand us coming here and they will likely lose river lsland top shop wallis etc as they will be in the new place.
added to that when jjb closed they talked about reconfiguration, food courts and a fresh canvass but have done nowt. But this is the same problem with high streets, it mostly retail which is a dying fad and councils and town planners need to think outside the box. The guildhall will either have Debenhams in it or it will be something else in 5 years hopefully the market
