Has anyone else smelled Radford Bank?

I have cycled past Radford Bank for the last couple of days and it really does smell...(unless I have a very strong sence of smell) it must be from the flood and it drying out but don't envy anyone living around there and trying to sit in there gardens at the moment.

You can smell it over on Wildwood at an evening - not the most pleasant pong!! Slowly easing off now the fields are drying out.

Oh it's not that bad, reminds me of the seaside when the tides out. There have been hundreds of black headed gulls there recently, enough for the MOD to re-direct the chenooks over wildwood. The Farmer used to keep the meadow fairly short but before the flood it had grown a bit out of control. This has led to the water not draining as well as usual. Nice for the birds but a bit pongy for the residents.

I noticed on Fix My Street that someone has posted up telling the Borough Council to sort the problem out. Don't see what anyone can do about it to be honest except wait for the sun to 'burn it off' so to speak.

Funny that, nobody ever complains about the motor vehicle polution

But a country woft and you all get on your ( petroleum powered ) bikes

Stay behind after school and write 200 lines - I must not kick up a stink unless I have my silkwankingsock

You'll get this aroma on any flooded grassy area round here right now. Maybe the weekend rain will wash some of it away. We're used to flooding but don't think we're used to being flooded, then drying out in souch an immediate heat. I live near the river so get a good whiff of it, then when I get to work I get another dose as it runs alongsigde work and the fields are flood plains. Nice!

Yeah I smelled it the other day when I went past it on my bike. I actually found it quite pleasant because it reminds me of the sea.

Perhaps they could place a couple of Glade airfreshers on the bridge. That'll do it.

Dunno what all the fuss is about. Just drive past there and couldn't smell a thing with the windows shut and the aircon on recycle. :heyhey:

Does seem to resemble the seaside where the floods where. It is particularly bad along the cycle path from Baswich to Town, the path on by the river before ASDA.

I confess to being on the very edge of barfdom doing that route just two days ago - i was in an already quite 'delicate' state at the time, mind.

You can smell it in the silkmore area as well. Bit wiffy at night with the windows open but it's just like a farm smell to me.
