Having trouble with transport for work/training/education??

As a result of having a super duper new job based near Eccleshall, i've found myself in a quandry as far as travel is concerned; i don't drive, and my office is not easily accessible by public transport. I was talking to a friend about this issue last week, and it just so happened that his wife works for a department of the council called Wheels 2 Work. The scheme is aimed at enabling people to get to work, training or education. They individually assess your case, and depending on the circumstances you may be able to get subsidised driving lessons, travel vouchers, moped loans etc! During the course of the conversation it transpired that this scheme could also help another of my friends. She has to foot a bill of £600 for repairs to the van she uses for work, but Wheels 2 Work also offer vehicle repair grants (again, conditions apply and cases are dealt with individually), so it's more than likely that this £600 bill will be reduced by about half! None of us had ever heard of these possibilities, so i thought i best tell Forumites what they could be missing out on. Considering there were 5 of us round the table and 3 of us will benefit from Wheels 2 Work, i'm sure some of you lot will be interested!
