His/Her name on street in Market Square

Freddie Mercury's name has been postumately honoured in Feltham*! Who should be honoured in a plaque on floor in Market Square? I have myown ideas, but I shall keep it to myself. I guess it should be someone, nationally famous so that shortens the choices, as does the fact that they should be current, recently retired, or diseaced? The choice is yours.

*Feltham is in Middlesex, very near Heathrow. My Dads sister and he family live there, so some where I am familiar with.

That's the one. Wasn't she a lesbian policeman, or am I getting confused?

There is a plaque in the Market Square now, just as you go out into Market Street, but I'm not too sure what it's about - it's health-related, I think. I'm just going into town and so I might remember to have a look.

What about a Stafford Forum plaque? In the market-place, agora/forum, it's quite an appropriate location.

Or we could emulate Dieter Meier. What are you doing in 2031?

i was about to posted "altern 8 aren't deceased" but actually, for all intents and purposes "they" are :(.. mark has had to hang up the name due to legal threats from his former partner, so now he can only take bookings as "mark archer, formerly of altern 8"!

so, in that respect, i guess Altern 8 are dead, and therefore eligible for a plaque! :D

It's 'Positive Images - Promoting mental health.'

There are two commemorating a Mr Stanton in front of Boots. Wasn't he half of Stanton & Staveley?

Poddy's monument probably ought to be in Market Drayton, as he is, apparently, a famous resident, according to Wikipedia. I must admit that I wasn't aware of the wetsuit incident, though.

Moseley, now that explains all the St George Xs in and around the town........

Richard Brinsley Sheridan - I believe that he has a plaque on the old Post Office already - and a street name, too.
Lord Anson.
Queen Ethelfleda.
Dave Gorman.
Carol Ann Duffy.

Ah yes Gramaisc, Carol Ann Duffy the poet laureate who attended Riverway Girls school before it was disbanded! She doesn't realy have good memories of the town, but what the hell, it's a toss up between her and Mike Dilger for me. Mikes dad Digger, used to be the Depute Head at Graham Balfour till the early 80's. He was head of 6th form, and not everyones cup of tea, this was not changed when he 'retired' from Balfour to turn up soon after at the Private Grannar School! The famly lived up the Newport Road, and if you don't know Mike Dilger, he's a wild life boffin, who appears fairly frequently on TV, and is a regular on the BBC's One Show with Adrian Childs at 7.30 most weekdays (I think!!!) So they get my fote, OK not quite Freddie, but certainly the latter seems to have the personality and potential to make it BIG.

Middlesex has not existed since 1974

In theory.

Carol Ann has considerable talent - however her four brothers could be argued, have more

Dave Gorman has one of the most annoying laughs in western europe

Freya is a delightful person -truly

The collective lie may push forward other nonenities

However, at least none scrape the barrel-so-low as Brum and Gary Newbon..
