If the council wont/cant provide a safe shooting gallery https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1141381/heroin-addicts-shooting-gallery-free-fixes https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/police-back-shooting-galleries-for-drug-users-xfbwf97q3 then these things will happen, also it was recently reported than one of the "homeless" folk was seen injecting in the doorway of the old co-op .
If the only life folk have is on the street then they will live their life on the street.
The homeless problem is here, for too long it has been ignored, brushed aside with hope the "they" will crawl away into the dark so all the "good" people will not have their eyes offended by the tragic reality of the people we would rather not acknowledge exist because they remind us all too much of our failure as a society.

Part of the reason the "issue" seems more noticeable is the hardening of attitudes in surrounding areas like Stoke & Wolverhampton etc. Stafford is seen as an easy touch. You don't hear many "local" accents when they're shouting & swearing or asking for change v

When you have Priti Patel spouting such garbage but being in charge of so many important decisions, you can only fear that things get worse before they get better.

Of the Conservatives this is what we expect

Of the so called 'newspapers' this is from where poison comes

These are dangerous times when so many people believe the lies they read

And get them reinforced by others doing same

Berners-Lee is said to be horrified

A number of town centre properties have now boarded their doorways, so a number will now be seeking new spots. Ironically HOB have a Market Square consultation today but I've just seen 3 chaps gathering behind Doxey Road laylandiis while their bedding has an airing on the Sainsburys island railings.
