Homeless in Stafford Town

Be interested to see people's views on the report that people, assumed to be homeless were shooting up in Victoria Park. As a natural sceptic, I am close to the view that the person went to the papers purely because people were in the park. Unsure with this one, that a couple with all of the more private places on the park, would choose to inject publicly.

If the only life folk have is on the street then they will live their life on the street.
The homeless problem is here, for too long it has been ignored, brushed aside with hope the "they" will crawl away into the dark so all the "good" people will not have their eyes offended by the tragic reality of the people we would rather not acknowledge exist because they remind us all too much of our failure as a society.

Part of the reason the "issue" seems more noticeable is the hardening of attitudes in surrounding areas like Stoke & Wolverhampton etc. Stafford is seen as an easy touch. You don't hear many "local" accents when they're shouting & swearing or asking for change v

A number of town centre properties have now boarded their doorways, so a number will now be seeking new spots. Ironically HOB have a Market Square consultation today but I've just seen 3 chaps gathering behind Doxey Road laylandiis while their bedding has an airing on the Sainsburys island railings.
