If you mean Lichfield House, I believe that is just for younger people. Had a mate in there once, and another work there, and everyone seemed to be 18 or younger. The Bethany on the park has older people, although I'm not sure how you get in there. I have a mate currently living there, who was referred for being homeless, and although he is under 20 a lot of the residents are much older.

A friend of mine has been camping in various locations around the town since about Easter. He has various 'issues' and a history that makes finding accomodation rather difficult. He did this about five years ago, from May to September, but it's getting a bit chilly for it now and I haven't heard anything from him for a couple of weeks..

I finally tracked him down just now and he has a roof ( of sorts ) for now - and a possibility of a more practical arrangement in the future.

The focus project in lovett street is for younger people i think the age is 16 to 25. The other place that used be the bethany is now called new eagle house - the best way to see if your eligable and if they have space is actually go to the building.
The borough council has a homeless and housing options service in the mornings. If you have a dissabilty or are vunerable they will find you tempory accomodation until you can be rehoused. They can also guarantee a deposit if you can find privated rented.

Most private rented wants one months rent up front so if your on a benefit you can do a community care grant for that. It's the catagory that says ease exceptional pressure on the family. They have more hostels in stoke there is a salvation army hostel and the ARCH project. You can pick up a list of hostels from the citizens advice in north walls
