how?

A man has criticised Sussex Police after he discovered they were monitoring his updates on a social networking website.
you post things online in an open forum where the point is that people follow your profile and listen to your opinions....unless you are the police? :raise:

surely thats one so the things that the police have been greatly criticised for, not listening?

If he knew that the police were following his posts, then don't see such a problem, irritating as it would have been. I'd be a lot more worried about all the covert surveillance that goes on like listening to phone calls and reading emails without people's knowledge.
