The only program I've ever used for marketing is GroupMail. It was good and had all sorts of options so that you could (for example) only email people in one particular group that were aged between 20 and 30, or joined between certain dates etc etc.

Saying that, the version I have is quite old now so there's probably much better out there.

I've got a lot of experience using Newzapp. Extremely easy, very good in terms of reports (who's clicked which link, from which email etc) and cheap compared to other similar offerings. The only thing is you'd need to have someone who can design your ads..which I'm pretty sure you have already.

no.

and mailchimp says you can do your own no matter what your level of experience.

however, the fact that i couldnt even create my list in mailchimp suggests im dimmer than your average chimp! lol :monkeydance:

One major thing to bear in mind is that you need to incorporate a decent proportion of actual words in your mailing. I don't mean words which are part of the jpeg/whatever, I mean actual text. A big reason for email marketing failures is just sending a picture to someone whose filter will immediately class it as spam. I will be available for a phone consultation on this topic tomorrow evening, should it be required. I did a lot of research into this very topic not very long ago.

With other emailing progs I've used you usually create your list in Excel and then upload the doc. This makes it very easy to keep track of who you've mailed/who has unsubscribed and enables you to keep in-sync with your customer database...which I also assume you have. If not, I have plenty of suggestions for this too!

yeah don't use mailchip. Your paying for something you just don't need too. I assume if your sending email marketing your running a business of some sort? I'll also assume you have a webserver /web host.

You can just install mailing list software server side. Theres lots of options out there, a good three are Dada mail, phplist and pommo. Its all open source software with lots of contributing developers. Your all set.

I've personally used PHPList to great effect.
