i bore witness to joxer brady's pie selection today, and good lord did it give me a bonar.. tried the chicken, leek & taragon one - suffice to say, it was bob on..

they even told andreas that they would sell him wrapped ones to take home at £2.50 a pop!! i don't think he'll ever go food shopping again lol

not only did i bear witness to the magnificence that is the joxers pie of the month.....

....i troughed the entire lot myself too!

absolutely spot on, although if i think it needs to be requested that they have an andreas rex free eating zone so that diners arent pestered every couple of minutes with "are you eating that bit" ;)

ps. also decided what im having next time i go as doc's tomato and goats cheese tart looked to die for too. however, at the risk of giving birth to a pie baby in the middle of the pub i refrained from gobbling his grub too.

The pre railway bash eaterie went like this. .
Pie of the Month........Chicken, Leek & Tarragon with leek mash and garden peas.
No arguments from me on that one.

But the state of those chips on Jimbob's plate, piled high like Jenga bricks, towering over his stilton and beef pie. . .hummer,hummer.

But I've already made my choices for my next visit
Pork, Gammon, Apple and Cider Pie with sage mash. Bring on the gravy.

4000th post? Whatever, I'm nonchalant..
very reasonable indeed. choice of mash, went for sausage and onion. comes with red onion gravy and a pot of peas. watching everyone tucking into those hearty pies left me feeling a little left out though. they don't do a kids menu but they knocked up a mini size portion for the little un. simple but rustic, wholesome menu. would recommend definitely.
