Yes the old Hogshead venue will be used. The rest of Bridgewood House will be redeveloped as apartments/hotel with current rooms being made larger and reception will now be through the old pub as opposed archway by carpark.

Hogshead Revisited was an Evelyn Waugh novel wasn't it?

Am I the only person who thought this was going to be about Judge Judy visiting the metropolis?

Good to see the building being bought back to use....

Coming soon, The Judge and Jury "club", seen them working in it today, don't think it'll take long to open.

Interestingly, it's applied to have live music, and music in general both outside and in.

new sports bar and restaurant to open in Staffordshire town centre

Ten new jobs are being created
    • [IMG]
This venue is to become the Judge and Jury, in Earl Street, Stafford
A new sports bar and restaurant is opening in a town centre.

New owners have snapped up the former Hogs Head which is currently being refurbished in Earl Street, Stafford.

It is opposite Stafford Crown Court - and will be renamed the Judge and Jury.

Now the venue is recruiting 10 members of staff before it officially opens early next month.

The same company already operates the Bridgewood House hotel in the town.

This links to what I’ve said previously about online reviews. I’m always surprised at the number of first time reviewers that manage to find trip adviser etc to post their first review about a place but can never manage to find the site to check the reviews before booking.
Not that I know anything about the place in question, it could very well be a shitehole.

I remember this place being spacious inside when it was The Hogshead, not sure if changed after that. At least social distancing may work better than some places, although it's not the best time to opening

Judge & Jury apparently opened today. Someone peered through the door & spotted a handpump with St Austell Proper Job, other beers may be available.

It is open and has Proper Job and Hobgoblin Gold on handpulls.

The place looks strangely familiar :)

A great venue. I heard a rumour it was going to be a sports bar. It doesn't look very sporty, thankfully.

It’s got the screens that used to show Sports so does that count?

I don’t know if they intend to show any sports on the screens though.
