May well be interested. It may be a school night, but I was in bed by 9* on sat so think I can go out and play tonight :)

*Due to drinking from early afternoon on an empty stomach :D

I went in this pub the other night, and since the smoking ban i think it smells of piss
It is not wee wee, but the scent of plug-in air freshener. I know cos I turn it off when I'm doing jam night.

Gutted I missed this. Was it any good?

Coming from out of the area, me and my gf don't know that many people so just tend to spend our nights in front of the box (plus we always seem to be skint) but thats getting very boring now so we need to start getting to nights like this. When is the next one?

Problem is, when you are used to falling asleep on the sofa most nights after a hard day at work, its hard to get your lazy arse to do anything different (plus its a long walk from Castlefields when its cold / wet) :D

Was fairly quiet, alright though. I've started just turning up whenever there's something on in there, its usually a good night. Even went out on my own the other week, something I've not done in years! This Saturday Majika are playing, although its not the full line up. 2 of them still play as Majika, but the other 2 have gone. Dunno what they're up to, I know Wes is doing live DnB up stoke way but dunno about the other.

Castlefields aint that far! Would take you about 10 mins max? Maybe start going the Railway, theres usually a few forumites in there.

First time I've been on a Monday night, think there were seven comedians. The last three were the best. Definately go again if I had the night off.

The last three being the best comes from my very savvy comedy club booking skills.

The next one is November 5th (it's the first Monday every month) and the line-up is:

Paul Howard
Tony Brandrick
Dave Powner
Aaron Rice
Rob Coleman
Peter Smith
Andy Kind

It's a mixed bag next month and there are quite a few of these guys who i haven't seen before, but it's always a good night and it don't cost you nothin!

Andy Kind who was the last to perform has now booked a regular slot with us, so he'll be doing brand new material every month.

Going way off topic ( as I'm prone to do sometimes!) theres lots to do in and around our top little town .

Regarding distances almost everywhere isn't that" far" really when you think about it you can walk Doxey to Joxers in about 20-25 mins but we ( good lady and myself and others) quite often get the bikes out !..reduces the travel by lots and its er "fun" trying to make it home after a skinfull ! if it's a case of "not possible" then just leave the bike till the mornin. Would recommend no fancy hi tech velocipedes here just an old knacker with wheels and a working/serviceable ability of some sort . Plenty to be had on places like Freecycle( no pun!) if you haven't got one .

Theres no excuse really for having a bash and you aren't half ready for that first pint when you get to the bar ! AND you dont have to prat about with Taxis after pub closing .

Really, only takes us 10-15 and we're not even skipping.......suppose Doxey is quite long and we live at the beginning :pint:
