Land at Sandon Road/ Beaconside Road Stafford

Had a leaflet through the door today about proposals for residential development of 115 homes at above location and have been invited to view proposals and information prior to a planning application being submitted.

Where is this meeting???

CHEBSEY....hmmm that's nearby (I know it's not a million miles away but c'mon)

I'm guessing there won't be many attendees

Indeed. If they were serious, then they could use the Amasal or Lotus clubs, surely..?

And, I'm a bit nearer to it than you are, yet I've had no such invitation...

It is this coming Monday 15th July (loads of notice too) between 2pm and 7pm at the village hall if you are interested.

I'm guessing tis to do with the the big signs up at the roundabout on A34 but who knows?

I've just had that note through my door. It's from the amusingly named BNP Paribas Real Estate. I finally got past all the hurdles of their email obstruction program and have asked them - Where is this land? Wouldn't it have been nicer to have had more than three days notice? Wouldn't it have been possible to have had the exhibition in a more sensible location? etc.

We'll see what comes back.

Right, well, I went, more to annoy them than anything. I was the eighth visitor, when it had been open an hour and a half, which is more than I was expecting. It's just about this triangular field here, between Beaconside, Sandon Road and the MOD site. It's the usual pastel shaded maps of squiggly roads and pictures of the usual style of house and lots of use of the word "proposed". The proposed exit is onto Sandon Road just south of the existing houses, which surprised me, rather than turning the Tollgate entrance into a crossroads. There was talk of the inevitable traffic lights at the B5066 junction, where two illuminated bollards have recently appeared.

The two nice young ladies insisted that it had been "impossible" to find a nearer venue. In fact, they could have done this in the bus shelter opposite the Shell garage.
