Landlords in Stafford

I've noticed a lot of the properties around here are being snapped up before even one person get's a look in.

It's getting to the point where I think I might end up being homeless at the end of this month if I don't find somewhere.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I did find somewhere very reasonable through belvoir, I had been a good tenant before, and they actually convinced the landlord about the dog for me :)
The one we've got, we were the first to view, if you see one you like you do need to get in there and snap it up! Affordable rents for a nice house in Stafford are few and far between unfortunately... That comes from someone who's had to move 5 times in so many years in this area!

£800?!?!?! Admittedly my last place was a bit over 3 years ago, but we had a 3 double bedroom semi with a garden about 40m long backing onto the marshes for £550. Didn't realise things had increased so much.

Its Cannock Road though - the houses are very expensive on that road. I think a nice 3 bed semi is £200k+ So for example that house would probably cost 50% more to buy than the one that shoes gave an example of him renting recently at 600. The rent is not proportionate to the value of the house though I guess. So you can easily pay £500+ a month to rent £100k worth of terrace house, but a £250k detached might only rent for £750.

I noticed most ones in the link above are 5 bedrooms and a kitchen, so no communal space at all. I think that'd do my head in TBH!

Last time I was in a shared house (professional not students) no one used the communal areas - it was very odd.

I believe that, if you were able to access the statistics, you would find that most serial killers have lived in a shared house at some time.

I used live in a shared house down the Marston Road,(it became quite infamous for a while other year). It was horrendous. Girl in the front bedroom used bring back different blokes every night at 2.30am, and kick them out at 6.30am. Landlord weren't bothered as long as he got his rent every month.
I could have very easily commited a murder while I was there.

What do people consider to be a reasonable rent for a 2 bed house in Western Downs? The property is part furnished. Thank you.
