Wanted Large Boxes

I've bought a few of Horsleys with every intention of using them to move us but with the absolutely ridiculous quote I’ve just had through my door, I’m not particularly inclined to spend any more money with them. If someone could point me in the direction of some large (free or reasonably priced) cardboard boxes I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks

Actually Bob, to be fair they may be expensive but they are really good.

I have used them every time I have moved however the last time was 12 years ago.

Unless they have changed their policy, if you use them to move house you only pay a deposit on the boxes and get your money back after you have unpacked.

But for other avenues try asking at the supermarket.

Brittania Removals, on Drummond Road, have an A-board that says they have packing materials for sale.

It’s still the same with the boxes, but at the price they’ve quoted we won’t be using them, they’ve quoted double the price they charged my mum last year and we have a smaller house and less stuff and are moving a shorter distance, I think it’s because they can’t get the lorry up our drive so would be doing extra runs in a smaller van (god knows why they can’t load the van on the road and carry the stuff an extra 10 yards). I’ve bought quite a few boxes but I still need loads more, it just works out very expensive if I’ve got to buy them all.
I don’t know what supermarkets do with their boxes these days, I can never find one when I want one let alone 30 of the things.

The supermarkets flatten them and send them back but if you ask they will save some for you.

I usually go to where the fruit is and help myself to the banana boxes but these probably won't be big enough for you.

Try pets at home as they have lots of items that come in huge boxes, and they may be able to help you out.
