After learning much about this forum and some of it's inhabitants lately I will tentatively ask for as much support as is possible over the next 3 weeks as I approach the conclusion of over a years worth of work in organising the Stoke v Wolves charity match to be held at Stafford Rangers FC on April 25th.

Anyone who has not already and all those who have . . . . please take a good long look at the event website

HERE :)

It is now equipped with various live links to other sites and forums as well as sponsors detiails, event background / club / player info as well as the now well reknowned video with Nick Hancock which has received critical aclaim and is regularily shown at Stoke City home games on the big screen.

There is going to be loads going on on the day not JUST a footy match ! We are getting singers, dancers, brass bands, mascotts, film charecters, blow up football pitches for the kids, tombollas, raffles, food, drink and much much more ! Doors open at 12.00PM and match KO is at 2.00PM Confirmed appearances include THE STIG, DARTH VADER, THE STORM TROOPERS, POTTOMUSS, WOLFIE and BOBBY the BADGER !

Tickets for the days events are also available from this site and I urge everyone to purchase a ticket whether you can go or not as the charity is a locally based, small and very worthy cause helping families of children suffering with cancer.

NACCPO :help:

My original goal was to fill the stadium and raise £15000 in the process.
I genuinely believe this is an acheivable goal if the people of Stafford get behind it !

There are only 3 weeks or so to go so please use you're considerable power of communication and tell every person in you're respective e-mail contact list, ebay list, facebook account, twitter list, myspace friends etc etc etc

Get them to go to the website, have a look and buy a ticket !

There is also an after match party for which tickets are available direct from me
(PM me with a contact number) Tickets are £25 and include hot and cold food, comedien, band / group, memorabillia auction, fun and games, disco and other activities.

All in all it should be a day to remember especially if the good folks of Stafford really do decide to get behind us and give us that last big PUSH !!! :stafford:

Thanks to all that have helped so far :bravo::clap:

After Stoke showing our video at home games and us being announced at the recent Wolves match against Stoke 3 times coupled with our leafleting of 3000 people in the crowd we are getting confident that a 1500+ crowd will fill SRFC on the 25th we hope for 3000+ but the more the merrier.

Only remains now to try to get some local stafford support to boost the numbers and give us a day to remember :stafford:
which will be good for Stoke and Wolves, good for SRFC and good for the charity !

Please look at the website, watch the film and buy tickets ! HERE

Evening party tickets are also available but cannot be purchasaed on line so people wanting more info on the Gala after match party please contact me by PM with a contact number and I'll sort personally any requirements !

Cheers :)

With the weather reports good for the weekend and upwards of 500 tickets reported sold it bodes to be a great day ! Pre-match entertainment and family fun from 12.00 KO at 2.00 and aftermatch party at 6.45 !

Just walk up on Sunday at 12.00 but if you want evening tickets give me a shout or get them from one of the other organisers within the ground on Sunday !

Cheers everyone for continued support over the past 6 months !

Weather is in your favour, give Radio Stoke Signal and Beacon a call they're usually happy to give events like these a plug.........

The event was a massive success raiseing about £4000 over the day and night, but as I had expected and privately predicted, regardless of all the efforts put in by numerous people, getting people to an event of this nature is not easy ! I bigged it up forever but still only managed a crowd of 600. It was a success, but for the charity I feel slightly let down as IF I could have got 1500+ in the stadium they would have more than doubled there take ! I was a little suprised but £4000 is a good profit considering the event cost over £3000 to host ! and a year of preparation ! I'm certain that 600 liked it just a shame that 1000 others couldn't have popped along to make the atmosphere electric and the pot bigger !

Maybe next year I'll market differently

Yes I played the last 15 - 20 mins of the second half making a couple of routine catches and collections of loose balls, I made one decent stop down at the feet of Marc Goodfellow late on but did concede one goal in a one on one when I think it was ex international Mike Sheron was allowed to slip through !

The final score was 5 - 2 to Stoke with me only concedeing 1 goal so not to bad I suppose. To be fair to Wolves 1st keeper Tim Clarke Stoke bossed the first half but Wolves had all the play second half so although he let in 4 I didn't really get pressed too often.

Great fun all round !
