We're looking for some live music during the day on the 12th April for a wake. Does anyone know of something suitable locally that might be interested please? We're open to music style suggestions, but maybe not hard rock :)

What kind of funeral is it? I don't think I have ever been to one in this country that plays live music.

@Goldilox does a fair blues session.

What sort of thing might the subject of the wake have liked?

A friend of mine had live music at his, six years ago in Eccleshall.

These boys were great friends of his and made it a "day".

I always associate live music/singing with an Irish wake.

It's for the wake afterwards, not the actual funeral

    There are Irish migrants here.....

One often gets singing at Jamaican funerals, too, amongst others.

Classical, 1920's. 30's or edith piaf :). You get my gist, but we're open to suggestions as the 'subject' is no longer able to pass comment!!

I think it would be a nicer atmosphere to have some classy music than to have sombre silence and hushed whisperings myself!
