Week 3 of our weekend walking today was around Hopton. We didn't have a route or leaflet, we just parked up by the bridleway (on the lane that runs alongside the MOD site 6 ,
Withins Lane?) between the Weston Road and the Sandon Road), walked along the bridleway to Salt, through Salt, and then picked up another footpath back up to Hopton. Took about 90 mins, shorter than I like, but it was parky at 9am this morning!!!
To anyone unsure of going on a DIY walk, may I recommend getting the
ordnance survey map of the area which has 2 inches to a mile so loads of detail. Most of the footpaths locally are well signed, and with this type of map each field is annotated so it's easy to see where the path goes even if it's not obvious on the ground.
Loving both the exercise, the nature we see, and the time spent with my teenage daughter who is also enjoying the time away from studying. Dogs loves the walks too
