Saw some of the horse racing/jumping/dancing?! yesterday is there really much skill in the riding or is it just all down to the horse? It seems a strange Olympic sport to me, a lot of sitting down....

There seems to have been too much hype and not much else. We may organise a good Olympics but we are so far rubbish at getting medals!

2 golds and a bronze today! I just watched Wiggins win the men's road race and Froome got bronze...excellent!

In other news...

Boris stuck on zip wire

Boris Johnson was heard shouting "Get me a rope, get me a ladder" after he was the first person to use the zip wire. He continued "I think the brakes got stuck".

Is it just me, but is anyone else bored with all the Olympic Coverage, every-time I switch on the News to see any headlines and the weather forecast, it is just Olympics Olympics. Will be glad when it is over with.

well, what a night last night! i can't believe how much everyone has taken to the olympics - i was glued to the TV last night, and thank god for my ipad as facebook was on fire, with everyone i know basically providing a running commentary and lots of celebratory posts as we kept smashing records again and again!

my favourite was from andreas rex, when Mo Farah rinsed out the 10k like it was a stroll in the park:

Mo Farah, bag o' wire! :slayer:

Having the Olympics in Great Britain is amazing sporting experience but what am keen to see next is an Olympic legacy to spur on the next generation of Athletes, in particular I would like to see an improvement in the sporting provision in Stafford.

Clearly in Stafford we will never get something as good as the velodrome, but I would love to see Staffordshire County Council and the Borough Council build some new sporting venues and give some investment to our local sporting clubs and Sporting venues such as Rowley Park. I do believe that for too long the Borough Council has under used and poorly managed Rowley Park especially when you compare it to what has been achieved at a very short time at Stafford Town and Stafford Cricket Club.

I dont want to get embroiled in past mistakes made by the Council i.e losing our Diving pool and building a football pitch on what is supposed to be an athletic venue. Why Rowley Park was cited for an all weather football pitch is beyond me, clearly it would of been better located near to Stafford Town, Stafford Rangers or Brocton FC so our football clubs could make use of it leaving Rowley Park to become a centre of Athletic excellence.
